Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health (CERH) is excited to welcome Nyden Greenfield as a research assistant. Nyden was born and raised in Waterloo and moved to Goderich in 2014, where he attended the local high school. He later returned to Waterloo for his postsecondary studies at the University of Waterloo, completing an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Medical Physiology, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
Nyden is deeply passionate about rural health. This past summer, he supported the cardiac rehabilitation program at the YMCA for the Maitland Valley Medical Team, shadowed physicians in various clinical settings, and volunteered at Gateway CERH on several projects, such as BRAVE Firefighters. He also recently completed his MCAT and is preparing his medical school applications, with the goal of beginning his studies in Fall 2026.
Outside of Gateway CERH, Nyden is a familiar face in the community. You may see him working at the Park House or the Beach Street Station, or enjoying time around town with his family. Always eager to meet new people, he welcomes a hello when you see him out and about.
Stay tuned for more updates on Nyden’s contributions and adventures as part of the Gateway ERH team!

I saw an ad for https://savaspin.com.gr when scrolling late at night. I don’t usually trust ads, but I clicked this one and jumped into the slots. The design caught my attention, especially since it had Greek-themed symbols that felt close to home. I was ready to stop after a string of losses, but then I triggered a bonus round that kept me spinning for ages. That sudden change made me laugh out loud—it was worth the try.
