BRAVE-F
Benefitting Rural Area Volunteer Emergency Firefighters. This project aims to promote health among rural volunteer firefighters in Huron County by providing medical screening and education for cardiovascular health.
Project Background
Firefighters play a crucial role in our rural communities, bravely battling fires and responding swiftly to emergencies. Despite their dedication, they often lack the same resources, training and health initiatives available to urban firefighters. In light of the tragic events in Bayfield in 2023, where a firefighter faced a medical emergency while aiding boater, Gateway CERH is committed to creating a-powered health initiative. This initiative aims to enhance support and prevent future tragedies, ensuring our heroes are equipped to serve and protect effectively.
