On July 18, 2025, the Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health (CERH) was pleased to welcome Alex Kasper and Michael Daley, co-founders of EpiSense, for an engaging and productive meeting. The session brought together Gateway CERH team members—Kate Maloney, Julie Wein, Sarah Spacek, Sage Milne, Karissa Eckert, and Leslie Walker—with Alex and Michael to share insights about each organization’s work and explore opportunities for collaboration.
EpiSense is a forward-thinking Ontario-based startup that monitors the spread of infectious diseases across the province. Their platform provides real-time data on disease circulation levels, trends, and outbreak alerts for six key illnesses. As Alex and Michael explained, “EpiSense is like a weather app—but for infectious disease.” To learn more or join the EpiSense community, visit www.episense.ca.
G’day, I wanted a new electric scooter for ages, but it felt like luck just wasn’t on my side. Each game I tried before ended with nothing but losses, and I nearly gave up. Then I checked out https://plinko.co.za, took a slightly bigger risk, and finally scored a win that covered more than I had lost. The thrill was insane, and suddenly my scooter plan feels possible again. If you’re chasing a goal too, this could be the push you need.
