Learn About Substance Use in Rural Areas

Updated: 6 days ago

What an informative presentation by research assistant at Gateway CERH and opiate counsellor at Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), Katie Sparling. Katie Sparling joined Gateway CERH in the fall this year as part of her placement of her master's program. On December 5th, 2023, from 12- 1 PM, her lecture discussed “Substance Use in Rural Landscapes: Navigating Challenges and Cultivating Solutions”.

Joining her as panelists were Melissa Bowen Supervisor of Specialized Program at CMHA; Arletta Hallahan, Adult Substance Use Counsellor at CMHA; And Jaden Mitchell H2H Team Lead at CMHA.

As part of their lecture, they were able to offer many examples of local resources you or someone you care about can access to seek help with mental health and addiction within our rural communities.
