After a busy harvest, it’s time to come together, unwind, and catch up with the people who understand farm life best. The next S.H.E.D. Talk: Celebrating the Fall Harvest is all about good food, good company, and great conversation.

On Wednesday, November 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., join us at The Mayor’s Barn in Stratford for S.H.E.D. Talk: Celebrating the Fall Harvest, hosted by Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health (CERH) and Mayor Martin Ritsma.

S.H.E.D. Talks, short for Sustaining Healthy Farms through Empowerment and Dedication, are meant to give farmers a chance to connect and talk openly about the ups and downs of farm life. This fall’s event will feature Peter “Wheat Pete” Johnson, a voice many farmers already know and trust, and Rod Beattie, a Stratford actor and comedian who brings humour to every story he tells.

Along with the speakers, there’ll be a locally sourced BBQ lunch, live music, and a wellness fair with local groups and supports. It’s a chance to slow down, laugh a little, and reconnect after a busy season in the fields.

“At last, an event to celebrate the best of farming!” said Gwen Devereaux, President of Gateway CERH. “We’re so grateful to Mayor Ritsma for hosting a Perth County S.H.E.D. Talk, and we look forward to a fun and meaningful day together.”

This event is made possible through the generous support of Gay Lea. Gateway CERH appreciates their ongoing commitment to farmers’ well-being and to our work in rural health.

Everyone is welcome to attend, and we encourage you to register through Eventbrite.
