Tools, Technology & Innovation: Rural Tele-Dentistry & Future-Thinking Poster

Emerging technology has transformed healthcare access, delivery, and experiences for patients and practitioners. Forward thinking on how to use health technically to enhance rural communities is important to plan for healthy and economically vibrant places.

Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health (CERH) is hosting an upcoming webinar series event on Tuesday, October 6th, 2026, from 12 – 1 PM ET via ZOOM. The topic is “Tools, Technology and Innovation: Rural Tele-Dentistry and Future Thinking.” This session will discuss rural technological infrastructure development, and health innovation in rural spaces with a special focus on dental care.

For this discussion, we welcome several speakers.

Ashleigh Weeden, MPA, PhD, is an award-winning rural futurist and critical public policy researcher whose work is focused on the dynamic relationship between place, power, and policy, with a particular emphasis on advancing "the right to be rural" and on storytelling as a critical policy lever.

Dr. Veronica Lee, DDS, practices general family dentistry in Clinton, centrally located in rural Huron County, Ontario. Her practice philosophy has always placed a great emphasis on state-of-the-art instrumentation and continuing education to better serve her patients. She will be talking about some of the recent advances in digital dentistry and the benefits to rural patient care.

Rural areas are sites of innovation for health technology. This session encourages discussion on the capacity for positive transformation in health technology and infrastructure.

Anyone in the community is welcome to attend. To attend this event and future presentations, please register: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_XlO2os_USV6y1gl28r8_UQ#/registration ion - Zoom

Rural tele-dentistry sounds like a really promising way to improve access to care in communities where specialist services may be limited. I came across roulettino while reading about similar digital health initiatives, and the potential for remote consultations and early screening is especially interesting. I’d be keen to hear which technologies are already working well in practice and what barriers still need to be addressed.

Leveraging technology and innovative tools to bridge the gap in rural healthcare access is so critical for supporting remote communities. I actually stumbled across spinmama casino while reading through different rural health articles and looking for quick online entertainment options to pass the time during a afternoon break. Modern digital solutions truly have the power to transform how essential services are delivered outside major urban centers. Thanks for organizing such an informative webinar!

Rural tele-dentistry is an interesting example of how technology can help make healthcare services more accessible outside major centres. Exploring practical tools and future innovations could be especially valuable for communities where travelling to a dental clinic is difficult.
