On Friday, January 9, 2026, Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health (CERH) hosted a volunteer appreciation lunch to recognize the incredible individuals who generously contribute their time, skills, and passion to advancing our mission. The event brought together volunteers, board members, and staff for an afternoon centered around gratitude, connection, and shared purpose.

The lunch served as more than a simple thank you; it was a meaningful opportunity to strengthen relationships across the Gateway CERH community. Volunteers gathered to connect with one another, reflect on the collective impact of their work, and learn more about the organization’s ongoing and upcoming initiatives.

Throughout the afternoon, Gateway CERH leaders expressed sincere appreciation for the vital role volunteers play in supporting rural health research, education, and communication efforts.

“Today’s gathering was about recognizing the people who make our work possible,” said Nyden Greenfield, a Research Assistant at Gateway CERH. “Our volunteers are essential partners in driving meaningful impact, and we’re grateful for their time, expertise, and dedication.”

One volunteer shared their reflection on the event, saying, “Being part of Gateway CERH means being part of a community that truly values collaboration and service.” This sense of shared purpose and mutual respect is what continues to inspire volunteers to stay engaged and involved.

As Gateway CERH looks ahead, the organization remains committed to supporting and engaging our volunteers throughout the year. Opportunities to connect, collaborate, and contribute will continue to play a central role in advancing our mission.
