Are you a caregiver struggling with the competing demands of supporting someone close to you while trying to find time to maintain your own well-being?
Are you searching for local services and resources to help you in your role as a caregiver but aren’t sure where to look?
The Family Caregiver Support Line (also known as The Rural Women’s Health Support Initiative, RWHSI) serves both men and women caregivers of all ages in Grey and Bruce Counties. Trained volunteers provide free health coaching for caregivers. Assistance can include:
Finding contact information for needed community support services
Creating personalized action plans to lighten caregiving challenges
Talking with someone who understands the difficult caregiver role and knows how important it is to care for the caregiver
Most calls are returned within 48 hours. Coaches are able to provide up to 45 minutes of assistance per call to support caregivers in either English or French. Volunteer facilitated follow-up calls are available and encouraged.
