Paul Nichol, Advisory
Paul Nichol has always had a vested interest in rural Ontario. At an early age, he determined to pursue an education that would allow him to live and work in a rural area. He obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture at the University of Guelph in 1986, followed by a Masters Degree in Rural Development in 1991. Since that time, Paul has managed the Huron Business Development Corporation, an award-winning Community Futures organization located in Seaforth, Ontario. Over the years, he has been instrumental in building new rural development organizations such as the Rural Ontario Institute and the Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health. His most recent involvement in regional economic development includes the Huron Economic Development Partnership, the Sustainable Huron Plan, the Make Huron Home Immigration Initiative; the Edge Renewal Fund, the HealthKick Human Resources Strategy and the Huron Food Action Network.
