Current position, Research Assistant
Alanna Roy, a recent graduate from Western University with an Honors Specialization in Kinesiology, is hoping to pursue a Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy or a Medical Degree. Alanna plans to eventually return to Huron County to practice in her local community with the knowledge and experience gained throughout graduate school. During her employment at Gateway, Alanna will be working with Research Chair Jay McFarlan on his project called Grand Sparks. The project consists of a 5-day summer camp in July aimed at tracking the fitness levels of grandparents and their grandchildren. The project also aims to spark participant’s interest in becoming more active by experiencing unique activities at the camp, such as weightlifting, canoeing and adventure hiking.
